I cleared our schedule this week so we could stay home and potty train. We started yesterday morning. Initially I was inspired by the thought of saying good-bye to buying and changing diapers. But then I started to wonder if having a potty-trained child is actually harder than having one in diapers. Take the zoo for instance. Or long-ish car rides. Or even the park. Mixed with my phobia of public bathrooms. I guess we'll see.
So while I am having second thoughts, Boo is doing great. She's only had one accident, and that happened outside, so cleanup was a breeze. The hard part comes with letting it out once she's sitting on the pot. But by late this morning she is even getting the hang of that. We'll see how the rest of the week progresses.
Good luck!!! Good Luck!!! I'm glad she's doing so well!!! I'm FINALLY getting Isaac to go #2 and I'm thrilled! I'm seeing a small end at the tunnel, but I must say I have your same fears of finding a potty when your out and about!!! My same dilemma, but I couldn't turn down a child who was willing to go potty!!! Keep us updated!
ReplyDeleteMy only advice, Don't ever EVER use pull-ups to ebb your fears of long car rides or zoo outings. All it takes is once for these little ones to realize that when they have an accident in a pull-up there is no discomfort.
ReplyDeleteBut that is just me.

We've been gearing up for potty training, too, and it just terrifies me! I think we'll start in a month or so...just too much summer stuff going on right now like swimming lessons and such. Good luck and let us know how it goes and what works for you (and Brooke!)
